COTW2: Linkin Park x Jay Z

This collaboration is one of the most important projects of the Millennial generation. Both Linkin Park and Jay Z were huge voices for their respective genres, and both are still household names today. Their 2004 EP and live DVD was something I loved as a kid, and it’s become something I cannot appreciate enough as an adult. Even though Linkin Park had a hip-hop audience for their nu-metal style of music, their collaboration with Jay Z meshed rap and rock/metal audiences together in a way never done before. This collaboration brought people together in a way only music could, and I still find myself connecting with people who I otherwise wouldn’t because we both know and love the songs they created. This week, dive into your past and listen/watch this wonderful, one-of-a-kind performance.

Also, I’d like to personally thank Jay Z and Linkin Park for shifting my focus of what music is and what it can be, and I send my deepest condolences to Chester Bennington’s family, friends, and bandmates. Linkin Park were a band I loved from a young age, and I’ve grown up with their music around me, always. I highly recommend checking out the stream of the celebration concert they held for Chester a few days ago below. Trust me, it’s worth your time.
